| Many months after the introduction of the all new BMW R1200GS, we were still testing our third generation prototype windshield to get the optimum combination of wind protection, optical clarity, durability, good looks, ease of installation, and low aerodynamic drag, for better performance. The result is a smoothly curved shape about 21 inches tapering to 18 inches wide, accommodating the bike's 32 inch handlebars and cutting the wind blast on your arms. The shield comes in 3 different heights, made from 3/16 inch thick optically clear cast acrylic, using the original mounting locations, but set at the angle that tested best for better gas mileage. |
